ODYSSEY - Odyssey is one of two major Greek epic poems written by Homer.

It is also a metaphor for 'epic voyage' or 'long journey to find the things you are seeking for'.

In my opinion learning is a journey. When you learn something new, it is not so much the achievement of learning a new skill as it is the experience of getting there. Likewise, learning something new like scuba diving is a journey. This is where the 'Odyssey Divers' come from.

I have been traveling and teaching diving courses in many countries around Asia for the past few years. In summer I usually teach in my home country Taiwan and in winter I go explore different places. These past few years have taken me to many amazing places, such as Taiwan (Peng-Hu, little Liu-Qiu, North-East coast, Orchid island, Green island and Kenting), Maldives, Thailand (Koh lanta), Malaysia (Sipadan, Tioman and Perhentian) and the Philippines (Malapascua, Moalboal and Puerto Galera).

For me, the most important responsibility of being a dive instructor, besides teaching my students a good set of scuba skills, is to teach my students to take care of our ocean, be thankful and respect her.

I strive to teach my students the importance of environmental awareness and to become more aware of what consequences certain actions might have. If we want to keep scuba diving and explore the underwater world, we have to protect our ocean. Plenty of practice and proper scuba skills will prevent

reef damage and, at the same time prevent emergency situations.
